Spell Checking Existing Documents

Top  Previous  Next

When you open a document, AccuSpell automatically performs a spelling check. Misspellings are marked with a wavy red underline. AccuSpell does not compare words to the Auto-Correct Word List unless you are in the process of typing them.

Sometimes it is more convenient to check an entire document at once.  For example, when a document is very long, it may not contain errors at the beginning, and you might have to inspect several pages before finding words marked as errors. The AccuSpell Check All option is available even if you don't see a misspelled word on the screen.

To spell check a complete document all at once:

1.Right-click the mouse anywhere in the document.

2.From the right-mouse menu, choose AccuSpell Check All.

3. AccuSpell takes you to the first occurrence of a spelling error, and opens the Spelling dialog box.

4.Make your changes in the Spelling box, as shown below.

NOTE:The RePosition option is provided so that you can control where the Spelling window opens. Normally this option is checked, and AccuSpell opens the Spelling window in whatever location is least likely to obstruct your view of the text you are checking. When this option is unchecked, the Spelling window will always open in exactly the same location, regardless of whether it may be covering your view of the text you are checking. This option does not affect your ability to drag the Spelling window to whatever location you wish.

4.When you click OK, AccuSpell goes on to the next occurrence of a spelling error.
