Using  AccuSpell In Outlook Express

Top  Previous  Next

Outlook Express has its own spell checking capabilities, and when you install AccuSpell, Outlook Express' own spell checking button will also become enabled.

However, Outlook Express' controls do not work with AccuSpell, which has its own menu and options. AccuSpell has many features not found in Outlook Express, such as:

AccuSpell instantly marks errors with red underlining. Outlook Express does not mark errors. You must click the Spelling button to perform the spell check.

AccuSpell checks words in the subject line and message body. Outlook Express does not check the subject line.

AccuSpell automatically corrects many errors as you type by checking mistakes using its Auto-Correct Word List.

AccuSpell has a Thesaurus and Merriam-Webster word lookup available on its right-mouse menu.

It is recommended that you rely on AccuSpell for all of your spell checking in Outlook Express, and do not use Outlook Express' Spelling button on its menu bar. It is also recommended that you make sure Outlook Express's Always check spelling before sending option is not selected. To verify this, follow these steps:

1.From the menu bar of the Outlook Express main window, select Tools->Options.

2.Click on the Spelling tab.

3.Make sure the box Always check spelling before sending is unchecked.

4.Click OK.
