Using the Custom Word List

Top  Previous  Next

AccuSpell allows you to easily add, edit and remove words in your Custom Word List. The fastest way to add words to the Custom Word List is during a spelling check. when you see that AccuSpell has wrongly marked a word as misspelled in your document.

Adding a reported "misspelled" word to your Custom Word List:

1.Right-click the mouse on the word you want to add to the Custom Word List.

2.From the pop-up menu, choose Add.

3AccuSpell adds the word to the Custom Word List (or to the Microsoft Office Custom Dictionary, depending on your preferences) and removes the red underline from below the word. From this point on, AccuSpell will not report this word as a spelling error.

Editing the Custom Word List

If you have set up AccuSpell to share Microsoft Word's custom dictionary, then you can only edit the custom dictionary through Word. If you are using AccuSpell's custom dictionary, you can access it to add, edit or remove words as follows:

1.In the lower right corner of your screen, double-click the AccuSpell icon red_checkmark2 in the Windows systems tray.

2.Click the My Word Lists tab.

3.Click the Edit Custom Words button.

4.Add words by typing them in the box at the top of the window and clicking the Add button.

5.Remove words from the Custom Word List by clicking on the word and clicking the Delete button at the bottom of the list.

Sharing Microsoft's Custom Dictionary

If you would like AccuSpell to share Microsoft Word's custom dictionary instead of using AccuSpell's Custom Word List, you can set this preference at any time as shown below. If Microsoft's custom dictionary is shared, AccuSpell will check it to determine if a word is misspelled.  When you add new words to the custom dictionary, they will be added to the Word Custom Dictionary, and you must edit the dictionary through Microsoft Word, not AccuSpell.

To set your preference for sharing Microsoft Word's Custom Dictionary:

1.In the lower right corner of your screen, double-click the AccuSpell icon red_checkmark2 in the Windows systems tray.

2.Click the My Word Lists tab.

3.Click the Advanced Settings button on the My Word Lists tab.

4.Choose the option you prefer. Edits to the Microsoft Word custom dictionary can only be performed in Microsoft Word.
